Shreyas Iyer plans to buy a house with IPL money

Shreyas Iyer never imagined that he would be sold for such a high price.

Shreyas Iyer was purchased by the Delhi Daredevils for Rs two crore and sixty lakh in the IPL 2015 auction, appreciably exceeding his base price of rupees 10 lakhs. An ecstatic Shreyas revealed that he plans to a buy a house with the money he will receive from the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils.

“I haven’t thought about it yet but yes I’ll buy a house or a property with the money, “ Shreyas who was playing for Mumbai in a Ranji-Trophy match against Delhi, told CricketCountry.

The 20-year-old youngster who hails from Mumbai never imagined that he would be sold for such a high price.

“I was playing a Ranji Trophy match that time. I didn’t even see the auction. One of my teammates told me about the news and I just couldn’t believe it. I was expecting to be bought for 60 lacs or 70 lacs but 2.6 cr is a big amount. I didn’t celebrate much as I was still awe and I kept asking my teammates if the news was true,” quipped Iyer.

Shreyas, who came into the limelight at the 2014 Under-19 World Cup for India, is looking forward to the IPL.

“I’m looking forward to sharing dressing room with big guns of the cricket and it is a great opportunity for me to play in the IPL,” he signed off.
