Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill was caught off guard during the toss ahead of the IPL 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on Monday at the Eden Gardens. Former cricketer and commentator Danny Morrison, who was hosting the toss surprised him with an unexpected question: “You’re looking good, wedding bells around the corner? Getting married soon?”
However, a question about his marriage during the toss against his former team, Kolkata Knight Riders, left him blushing. Gill who was shocked, blushed and responded with a simple, “No, nothing like that”. The moment took social media by storm.

Coming to the match, Gujarat Titans won the match by 39 runs. KKR skipper Akinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first GT scored an impressive 198 runs in their 20 overs, thanks to a 100-run partnership between GT skipper Shubman Gill and Sai sudarshan.
Gill played a brilliant knock as he scored 90 off 55 balls, featuring 10 fours and three sixes, while Sai Sudarshan smashed 52 off 36 deliveries which included six fours and one six. Jos Butler also played a quick-fire 41 off 23 balls.

Meanwhile, KKR batters couldn’t chase down the target and ended up with 159/8 in their 20 overs. The score could have been even less if captain Ajinkya Rahane hadn’t scored a fighting 50. Gujarat’s Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna were the standout bowlers, each taking 2 wickets for 25 runs.
