Sindh will head into the Pakistan Cup 2016 with their newly appointed national T20 captain Sarfraz Ahmed. They will play their first match of the tournament against Balochistan on 21 April. The match will be played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalbad. The team has Mohammad Amir as their pace spearhead. The left-armer made his comeback to international cricket against in the Asia Cup and was by far the best Pakistan bowler in the tournament then. He continued his form into the T20 World Cup 2016 in India where Pakistan crashed out in the Super 10 stage itself. The team consists of players like Khalid Latif, Anwar Ali, Imad Wasim, Fawad Alam, Sohaib Maqsood, Khurram Manzoor, who have played for Pakistan at some stage of their career. The team will be coached by Tauseef Ahmed and Iqbal Imam. Also, each team in the tournament consists of one under-19 player. Hassan Khan is the only Under-19 cricketer in the Sindh squad for Pakistan Cup 2016.
The other teams from which Sindh could face a tough challenge include – Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunwala, Islamabad and Balochistan. The tournament will begin on 19th April when Balochistan face Punjab in the first match. The 50-over tournament will see 75 top players representing four provinces and Islamabad.
