Smriti Mandhana broke Harmanpreet Kaur’s record for the fastest hundred scored by an Indian in women’s one-day internationals cricket. The left-handed batter completed her century in just 70 deliveries against Ireland in the third and final ODI of the series.
Smriti went on to score 135 runs off just 80 deliveries before getting dismissed. She scored 12 boundaries and 7 towering sixes in this brilliant knock.
The previous record for the fastest century scored by an Indian in women’s ODIs was held by Harmanpreet, who completed her century off 87 deliveries against South Africa in Bengaluru last year.

Smriti’s 70-ball hundred was also the joint seventh-fastest in women’s ODI history. Australia’s Meg Lanning holds the record for the fastest women’s ODI hundred. She completed her century off just 45 deliveries against New Zealand in 2012.
This was Smriti’s 10th ton in the format, making her only the fourth player in women’s cricket to score 10 or more centuries in ODIs.
Coming to the match, openers Smriti and Pratika Rawal added 233 runs for the first wicket, the third-highest partnership for India in women’s ODI cricket. Both the batters scored impressive tons and carried the Women in Blue to a formidable total of 435/5 in 50 overs.
