Smriti Mandhana received the award for Best Women Cricketer (JR) during the eighth annual BCCI Awards Ceremony. The award was given considering her superb performance in under-19 inter-state women’s limited-overs tournament for Maharashtra. Mandhana scored 821 runs at an average of 136.83 in 10 matches to win the award.

The award comprises of a trophy and a cheque of Rs 50,000. Other than Mandhana, Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the Polly Umrigar Award for India’s best international cricketer. Rishi Dhawan and Kedar Jadhav were awarded the Madhavrao Scindia for their performances in the Ranji Trophy.

18-year old Mandhana has played a solitary Test and seven One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for India.
