South Africa will take on Sri Lanka in the final match of the Super 10 stage at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi on Monday. Both teams have been knocked out of the tournament which renders the match inconsequential, but given their shoddy performance both sides will want to go out with a bang. South Africa scored over 200 in their first match but were unable to stop England from going past their massive total. Their bowling shortcomings continued to haunt them throughout the tournament. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have been completely out of sorts. Their batting has lacked punch and the bowling venom. Despite this they managed to run England deep in their last match, with Angelo Mathews playing a superb knock in the chase. Sadly for Sri Lanka it was not enough and England went through by a whisker. However, by and large Sri Lanka have been a disappointment in this tournament. South Africa have been let down by their bowling. Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, and David Miller have done well at varying points in the tournament, but their bowling attack has floundered more often than not. Even Afghanistan, with their limited batting prowess, managed to give South Africa a scare. Dale Steyn was dropped from the side for a couple of matches, and could find a place in the side again after his replacement David Wiese did not do much either. Chris Morris and Kyle Abbott have been decent but Kagiso Rabada has been slightly disappointing. Rabada has not bowled badly, but his usual lethality has been missing. Sri Lanka have had a hard time because of the absence of some of their biggest stars. Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene retired after the World T20 2014, but even Lasith Malinga has missed out this time with an injury. Tillakaratne Dilshan has not been in good form, and Dinesh Chandimal has faltered at the top. Dushmantha Chameera, Rangana Herath, and Jeffrey Vandersay have been good with the ball, but they have not stood out either. South Africa will feel they have an advantage going into the match. Their batting has done well throughout, barring the match against West Indies. They will feel hard done by a couple of close games which could have gone either way. Sri Lanka lack the firepower against a good opposition, and the Proteas could look to cash in on that at Delhi.

Squads:

Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews (c), Dushmantha Chameera, Dinesh Chandimal, Niroshan Dickwella, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Rangana Herath, Shehan Jayasuriya, Chamara Kapugedera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thisara Perera, Sachithra Senanayake, Dasun Shanaka, Milinda Siriwardana, Jeffrey Vandersay.
