South Africa cricket team bowling coach Allan Donald has backed seamer Kyle Abbott to bounce back after the West Indies demolished his bowling in their Twenty20 clash at the Wanderers last Sunday.
Chris Gayle hit 90 off just 41 deliveries as the West Indies chased down South Africa’s mammoth total of 231 to win by four wickets.
Abbott finished with figures of 1/68 in his allotted four overs, setting the world record for the most runs conceded in international T20 cricket, Sport24 reported.
Abbott tried to bowl yorkers but got his lengths wrong and ended up bowling too full, which led to the West Indies punishing the South African.
Donald though is confident that Abbott would bounce back from the disappointment. He said that it wasn’t the seamer’s day, adding that if there’s one guy who works tirelessly to bowl yorkers in the nets, then it’s Abbott.

Donald claimed that Abbot is always very eager with it, adding that the seamer just couldn’t execute. The bowling coach also said that he knows Abbott and knows what the bowler can do, adding that the seamer is normally reliable.
