Hashim Amla completed his third Test double hundred in the first Test against West Indies at Centurion. The landmark coincided with the teams 500. Its Amla’s first double hundred in South Africa and it comes in his first home match as captain as well. From the previous two double hundreds Amla had converted one into a triple.

At the other end Stiaan Van Zyl is closing in on a maiden Test hundred on debut. The duo have gone past their hundred run stand as well. If and when Van Zyl completes his hundred, the declaration might come as South Africa would like to give West Indies a few uncomfortable overs before team. Earlier Amla and AB de Villiers had stitched together a marathon stand of 308 for the fourth wicket.
