Cricket South Africa have decided to release spinner Imran Tahir from the squad for the final two T20Is against Zimbabwe, in lieu of giving opportunities to other players, as per a report in sport24.co.za.

Tahir had taken 5/23 on Tuesday at Buffalo Park to help bowl South Africa to a 34-run win in the first T20I.

Tahir was the Man-of-the-Series for the recently-completed three-match ODI series which South Africa had claimed 3-0, with 39-year-old claiming ten wickets in three matches including a 6/24 in the second ODI.

The second T20 is in Potchefstroom on Friday while the third and final match takes place in Benoni on Sunday.
