India women cricket team s skipper Mithali Raj believes Harmeet Singh and Baba Aparajith hold the key for India s victory in the final of the Under-19 World Cup against Australia on Sunday at Townsville.

“The slow bowlers have done a good job. Harmeet Singh has been the most impressive in my opinion,” Mithali Raj told CricketCountry.

“Tamil Nadu s Baba Aparajith has been another player who has impressed me with his all-round performance in the tournament. According to me, they hold the key for India s match tomorrow against Australia,” she added.

Earlier, India Under-19 skipper Unmukt Chand had voiced similar opinion.

Baba Aparijith won the Man of the Match award for his all-round display against New Zealand in the semi-final where he contributed 44 runs with the bat and took two wickets for 29 runs in 10 overs with the ball.

Aparajith has won two consecutive Man of the Match awards so far in the tournament for his performances in crunch matches against New Zealand and Pakistan.

Mithali Raj is also elated to see India s performance following their loss in the first match of the group stage against West Indies.

“Its great to see the Indian team in the final especially after their World Cup campaign got off to a bad start. After losing to West Indies in the first match of the group stage, they have performed exceptionally well,” Mithali Raj said.

To conclude, she wished the Indian team luck against the defending champions Australia and hoped that they bring back the trophy.
