Abhishek Sharma played one of the most stunning knock in Indian Premier League history as he scored an impressive 141 off just 55 deliveries, which helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad to chase down the massive total of 246 against Punjab Kings.
Abhishek Sharma unleashed a brutal attack, hitting 14 boundaries and 10 sixes, as SRH chased the target with 9 balls to spare. Abhishek broke severals record during innings, including registering the highest score by a player in a run chase in IPL history.
Abhishek surpassed Marcus Stoinis 124 as the highest individual score in a run chase. Overall, Abhishek’s knock ranks third highest individual score in IPL history, trailing only Chris Gayle’s 175 in 2013 and Brendon McCullum’s 158 in the inaugural IPL match in 2008.
Marcus Stoinis has earlier scored an unbeaten 124 for Lucknow Super Giants when they had beaten Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. Even on Saturday, Stoinis smashed 34 runs off just 11 deliveries against SRH, including four consecutive sixes off Mohammed Shami in the final over of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) innings.
SRH opener’s Abhishek Sharma and Travi Head shared 171-run partnership, helping Hyderabad easily chase down the mammoth target of 246 runs against PBKS. SRH secured an eight-wicket victory with nine balls remaining in their IPL match on Saturday.

This run chase also ranks as the second-highest in IPL history, just behind PBKS’s successful chase of 262 against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last year. With this win, SRH has climbed to eighth place with two victories and four defeats, while PBKS holds the sixth spot with three wins and two losses.
