Sri Lanka, replying to Bangladesh’s first innings total of 232, were 60 for no loss at stumps on the opening day of the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka.
Dimuth Karunaratne was unbeaten on 28 and Kaushal Silva on 30.
Earlier, Shaminda Eranga claimed four wickets and new-ball partner Suranga Lakmal took three as Sri Lanka bowled out the hosts in 63.5 overs after electing to field.
Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored with 61 and Shakib Al Hasan made 55 for the home side.
