Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said it would oppose the the proposed International Cricket Council (ICC) draft paper prepared by its Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee according to secretary Nishantha Ranatunga.

“The executive committee agreed to write to the President of the ICC and inform them the unanimous view of the executive committee of SLC is that the said position paper needs to be deferred and reconsidered on a future date,” a SLC release said.

The position paper is due to be put to the ICC Executive Board at its quarterly meeting in Dubai on January 28 and 29. The reforms aim to give a larger share of control over world cricket to the Australian, English and Indian cricket boards.

SLC thus became the second governing body after Cricket South Africa (CSA) to publicly oppose the draft.
