Sri Lanka lost three wickets in the second session of Day Two of the second Test against Bangladesh at Shere Bangla Stadium, Mirpur. Karunaratne remained unbeaten on 29 off 94 balls, giving his all on a spin-friendly track to protect his defence. Abdur Razzak, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taijul Islam took a wicket apiece. Sri Lanka lead by 199.

First to go was Kusal Mendis. Coming round the wicket, Razzak bowled the one that holds its line. Mendis failed to make contact and got himself trapped in front. Dhananjaya de Silva then counterattacked the Sri Lankan spinners. His 5 fours eased pressure off Karunaratne. However, he soon lost his balance while scything a length ball, which hit the stumps before he could balance himself.

Mahmudullah brought Mustafizur brought into the attack at the stroke of tea, and the ploy worked. That famous cutter outfoxed Danushka Gunathilaka who tried to play across the line.

At the crease are captain Dinesh Chandimal and Karunaratne. Sri Lanka will look to up the ante, as the ball will turn more as the match progresses.
