Sri Lanka set a target of 268 runs for Bangladesh with just one session left in the match at Galle. The home side declared their second innings on 335 runs for the loss of four wickets.

Post lunch Sri lanka lost both their centurion batsmen Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara was the first to depart for 105 runs as he hit a Mahmudullah delivery straight to midwicket. The duo shared a 213 run partnership.

Dilshan followed soon after as he pulled a loose delivery and ended up finding Anul Hasan at backward square leg who took a fine catch diving forward.

Debutant Kithuruwan Vithanage finally got a chance to bat after four days and sored a brisk half century before being bowled by Mahmudullah. Sri Lanka declared with their score on 335 with skipper Angelo Matthews and Lahiru Thirimanne remaining unbeaten.

With just one session to go the Galle Test seems meandering towards a tame draw.
