Sri Lanka sweat over fitness of key players ahead of South Africa tour

Sri Lanka Cricket have announced that pacers Nuwan Kulasekara, Shaminda Eranga and Dammika Prasad will be missing the one-off Twenty20 international against Pakistan, and also their three-Test series against South Africa starting December 15.

The Hindu reported that wicketkeeper-batsman Prasanna Jayawardene is injured as well, and Kumar Sangakkara will have to shoulder the responsibility on South Africa tour.

Team manager Anura Tennekoon informed on Tuesday that captain Tillakaratne Dilshan was okay after hurting his left thumb and if it does not get worse he will be available to play in the Twenty20 match against Pakistan on Friday.

“Dilshan is okay and will play in the fifth one-day,” said the team manager.

Sri Lanka will play three Tests and five One-Day Internationals on their tour to South Africa starting December 15.
