England allrounder Liam Dawson has suffered an injury putting him in doubt for the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Wednesday.

Dawson sat out of England’s practice session on Monday due to a side strain and he will will assessed by a medical staff ahead of the third ODI.

The left-arm spinner was part of the playing XI for the first two ODIs. After the series opener was washed out in Dambulla, England took a 1-0 lead with their 31-run win in the second ODI at the same venue. In that rain-affected fixture, Dawson returned figures of 1/26 from six overs.

Meanwhile, the England cricket team had a surprising visitor ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Kandy as a snake found its way to the practice facility when England were training.

The England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) official twitter account posted a short 12-second video with caretakers trying get the snake in control.

On-lookers, quite a few of them, had their mobiles out to capture the moment.
