Galle will host the first of a three-Test series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The countries have played each other quite frequently in the last few years. But this time, Saeed Ajmal will not feature in Pakistan’s bowling line-up, and Mahela Jayawardene will not feature in the hosts’ batting line-up. Although spinners Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah are quality replacements for Ajmal, Sri Lanka’s relatively inexperienced middle-order will give their opponents the best chance to clinch the series: it will be their first in the country since 2006. LIVE SCORECARD: Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, first Test at Galle, Day 1
Kumar Sangakkara is set to retire from Tests in the series against India, which follows this one, meaning Angelo Mathews will soon not have the guidance and experience of his country’s two batting stalwarts to help him in his budding captaincy career. On tracks likely to favour spin, Rangana Herath will shoulder the spin responsibilities, with Dilruwan Perera or 22-year old Tharindu Kaushal likely to partner him. Pakistan, with the in-form Azhar Ali in their ranks, and a potent bowling line-up, despite Ajmal’s omission, look a settled outfit. They are likely to have Wahab Riaz and a fit Junaid Khan as their fast men, with Babar and Shah, the spinners who demolished Australia in a two-Test series in UAE late last year, a good foil for them. Ali, Younis Khan, and Misbah make a solid middle-order for the visitors.
Live Streaming has become one of the most popular media for consuming live cricket, and its audience is fast catching with that of its television and radio counterparts. The biggest advantage that Live Streaming provides over a television broadcast is portability, due to the fact that the user can watch the proceedings of a match even on the move, provided one has an active internet connection and a smartphone or a similar device.
