Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to field against New Zealand in the second Twenty20 international at Pallekele on Thursday.
Kusal Perera and Ajantha Mendis will be playing instead of Lahiru Thirimanne and Sachithra Senanayake.
Ramith Rambukwella is making his international debut.
The first T20 was called off without a ball being bowled, due to persistent rains at Pallekele on Tuesday.
The three-match One-Day International (ODI) series was severely hampered by rains as the second match of the series was washed out. Both the sides had won a game each.
In the ODI series, New Zealand sealed a thrilling win by four wickets in the first game, while the hosts won the third and the final match to draw level.
Teams:
New Zealand: Hamish Rutherford, Anton Devcich, Neil Broom, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Luke Ronchi (wk), Rob Nicol, Nathan McCullum, Andrew Ellis, Kyle Mills (c), Mitchell McClenaghan.
