Sri Lanka captain Tillakaratne Dilshan won the toss and elected to field against England in the second Test at Lord’s here on Friday.
England made one, injury-enforced, change to the side that won the first Test by an innings and 14 runs in Cardiff on Monday, with fast bowler Steven Finn recalled on his Middlesex home ground after James Anderson was ruled out with a side strain.
Sri Lanka welcomed back paceman Dilhara Fernando, who missed the series opener with a knee problem, and brought in left-arm seamer Chanaka Welgedara with spinner Ajantha Mendis and medium-pacer Thisara Perera both dropped.
England’s victory in Cardiff, achieved after Sri Lanka collapsed to 82 all out on Monday, gave them a 1-0 lead in this three-match series.
