Kolkata Knight Riders’ owner Shahrukh Khan stole the show as spectators jostled for a glimpse of the Bollywood superstar during his team’s IPL match against Delhi Daredevils on Thursday.

Shahrukh got a rousing reception from the near capacity crowd at the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium as he entered the owner’s arena near the team’s dugout zone.

It was a sultry summer night and the temperature soared with the arrival of Shahrukh. The actor’s presence left the spectators jostling for space to feast their eyes on the superstar.

Shahrukh, in his usual charming manner, blew kisses on the air towards the crowd, and won their hearts. KKR batsman Manoj Tiwary welcomed his team owner with a huge six as he smashed a full toss off Ajit Agarkar over deep square leg.

Wearing a black tee and light denims, Shahrukh was seen with his friend Vivek Khushlani at the owner’s pad. Delhi boy but KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir also got a warm welcome from the crowd. Shah Rukh admitted that it has been tough three years for KKR in the IPL and hoped his side will do well this time around.

In all the earlier three seasons in the IPL, KKR have failed to reach the semi-finals. “It’s been tough three years for us. Somehow we could not get the desired results. But we continued to do well and I hope this time we will do well,” said Shah Rukh.

He said his presence has proved lucky for the team on many occasions. “I am from Delhi and it’s wonderful to be back here at the Kotla grounds after a gap of 30 years. So I am happy to be here. My presence has been lucky for my team,” he said.

The Bollywood superstar said that the tournament is still wide open and no one can predict which team is going to win it. “Every team is giving 100 per cent. You can’t say much at this stage. I only know that Kolkata are doung good job so far,” he added.
