A brilliant all-round display from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has resulted in 85-runs win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 37 at Visakhapatnam. Put into bat, SRH scored 177 in their 20 overs thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 82 from Shikhar Dhawan. In their reply, MI were torn apart by SRH bowler’s, who took wickets at regular interval. Harbhajan Singh’s 21* being the highest score for MI spoke volumes about the failure of the batsmen. For SRH, Mustafizur Rahman and Ashish Nehra took 3 wickets each, with rest of the 3 pacers also taking wickets. While Yuvraj Singh’s blistering knock was also the highlight during SRH innings. FULL SCORECARD: Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2016, Match 37 at Visakhapatnam

MI’s innings got off to worst possible start. In the opening over, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar removed off Parthiv Patel for a duck. More misery was to follow for the home side, as Rohit Sharma was bowled by Ashish Nehra. At 5-2, both Ambati Rayudu and Krunal Pandya were at the crease, without having faced a ball. A small partnership between these players was building up, but they were dealt with another blow, as the in-form Rayudu was removed by veteran Nehra.

Jos Buttler made a guest appearance, staying at the crease for just 2 balls, before being caught brilliantly by Naman Ojha to give Nehra his third wicket. And the collapse kept continuing, with Barinder Sran coming to ball and getting his target in form of Krunal Pandya. With the score at 30 for 5, the last batting pair of Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were hoping to change the scenario for MI. And the order of the day kept on continuing, with Pollard scalped for 11 by Moises Henriques.

And the set of pacers taking wicket was completed, when Mustafizur Rahman came to bowl and grabbed Hardik Pandya in his very first ball, despite signs of no edge. The sad situation of MI was at view after 10 overs, when the scoreboard read 54 for 7, with them needing 124 more to win. Fizz kept continuing his impressive IPL season, with his 2nd wicket of Tim Southee for 3. The tail end combo of Harbhajan Singh and Mitchell McClenaghan showed some fight, trying to make a game out of the situation.

But Mjstafizur being himself made sure the 20-run partnership wouldn’t develop, as a slower one foxed McClenaghan, who could only watch Henriques take the catch. And the final nail in the coffin was put, when Jasprit Bumrah was removed by Sran, resulting in a humongous 85-run win for SRH. The win also took them to the top spot in the IPL standings while MI remain at No. 5

Brief Scores:

Surnisers Hyderabad 177 for 3 in 20 overs (David Warner 48, Shikhar Dhawan 82*, Yuvraj Singh 39; Harbhajan Singh 2 for 29) beat Mumbai Indians 92 all out in 16.3 overs (Krunal Pandya 17, Harbhajan Singh 21*; Ashish Nehra 3 for 15, Mustafizur Rahman 3 for 16)  by 85-runs
