The Supreme Court has asked the Justice Mukul Mudgal-led panel looking into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing and betting scandal, to investigate the matter for two more months. The hearing of this case has been adjourned till November 10, 2014. The Mudgal Panel had earlier submitted its interim report after conducting a few investigations. However, it is yet to meet a few players and gain more details in this case.

This could have its implications on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Annual General Meeting. N Srinivasan was earlier asked to step aside as BCCI President and he cannot apply for another term unless the investigations are not complete. Though the panel was given time till August 31, they asked for an extension as they needed more time and filed an interim report in the meanwhile. There were murmurs that the panel wanted to question a few cricketers and a member would travel to England, but there was no such plan. The panel would wait for some players to return in order to question them.
