Luck is certainly not in favour of India‘s two senior pros, Suresh Raina and Amit Mishra. Both were in contention for a place in India A squad but have failed the fitness test; putting their comeback into the national side in further jeopardy. Raina and Mishra gave the test under the watchful eyes of National Cricket Academy coaching staffs, but ended on the wrong note. Indian cricket team have raised the importance of fitness in their selection and Raina and Mishra will be feeling the heat.

Raina has reportedly failed the fitness test twice after he missed out on Sri Lanka tour as well. Though he has been working very hard and featuring in domestic games frequently, he will have to press harder to wear the Indian jersey again. On the other hand, with the rise in stature of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s think tank was dwelling upon Mishra’s selection as back-up. Looks like the 34-year-old leg spinner will have to wait for his time.
