Suryakumar Yadav’s fighting half-century went in vain as Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in an Indian Premier League match here on Friday.

Batting first LSG scored a masive total of 203, with a solid half centuries from the opener. Mitchell Marsh took the charge by scoring 60 off just 31 balls, he was alsob supported by Aiden Markram who scored 53 off 38 deliveries.

Despite LSG’s strong start, MI skipper Hardik Pandya delivered a remarkable performance with the ball, taking his maiden five-wicket haul in T20 cricket and finishing with impressive figures of 5/36.

In response Mumbai Indians started their chase with the shock of 2 consecutive wickets of the opening pair. However, Suryakumar Yadav stood out with his classy knock of 67 off 47 deliveries. Despite his effort the middle order failed to perform and the could’nt keep up with the required run rate.
