New Zealand captain Suzie Bates now has most runs in Women’s T20 Internationals (2,639). Bates went past England‘s Charlotte Edwards‘ previous record of 2,605 runs during her 66-ball 124 not out against South Africa at Taunton on Wednesday. Bates reached her world record with a single off Shabnim Ismail, in the second ball of the 16th over during New Zealand’s carnage. New Zealand set a world record total of 216 for 1 in 20 overs (England Women surpassed the record in hours). South Africa finished on 150 for 6. Only seven cricketers have crossed 2,500 runs in Women’s T20Is. Here if the list:

Bates added 182 for the opening wicket with Sophie Devine. This is also a new world record for any wicket in Women’s T20Is. Bates and Devine went past the 170 set by Shandre Fritz and Trisha Chetty of — ironically — South Africa, against Netherlands at Potchefstroom, way back in 2010-11.
