Nagpur: Hyderabad put up an impressive bowling effort to beat by Himachal Pradesh by 14 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy on Sunday. Hyderabad managed to restrict Himachal to 126 for 9 in 20 overs after making 140 for 9 with Ashish Reddy being the top scorer at 37. Mohammed Siraj (2 for 22), Chama Milind (3 for 34) and Akash Bhandari (2 for 18) stood out with the ball for Hyderabad. It was the second game of the tournament for both teams and they have won and lost a game each so far. With this win, Hyderabad are finally off the mark in this tournament. Hyderabad, courtesy of this win lie fifth in the table and will have to do a lot better f they are to qualify in for the next round. Himachal Pradesh on the other hand made an excellent start to the tournament as they beat defending champions Gujarat comprehensively by five wickets. They will look to get back to winnings ways when they take on Bengal on January 4.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16 just came to an end a few days back with Gujarat crowned as winners. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015-16 will get over on January 20 and Ranji Trophy will resume from February from the quarter-final stage. This tournament could also be used as a platform through which many talented players get themselves into reckoning ahead of the ICC World T20 2016, which begins from March.
