With things getting intense ahead of South Africa’s T20 Global League, it is now being reported that a couple of Indian coaches, such as S Sriram and Robin Singh, are all set to mentor Johannesburg Giants and Bloem City Blazers respectively. Sriram has played eight ODIs for India, and is at present the spin-bowling consultant for Australia in the ongoing Bangladesh tour. He also did the same for Australia during their previous tour of India and Sri Lanka as well as the 2016 WT20. Johannesburg Giants, which also owns IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils, roped in Sriram, who is also the assistant coach of DD.
Meanwhile, Robin Singh has played 136 ODIs and a Test for India. He coached a number of sides, including now-defunct IPL franchise Deccan Chargers (DC) and defending champions Mumbai Indians. He has also coached Caribbean Premier League’s Barbados Tridents, Bangladesh Premier League’s Khulna Titans and Sri Lank’as Uva Next. Earlier, Graeme Smith was also roped in as the head coach of Benoni Zalmi, while Jacques Kallis would coach Cape Town Knight Riders, Mark Boucher for Nelson Mandela Bay Stars, Paddy Upton for Durban Qalandars and Stephen Fleming for Stellenbosch Monarchs, as reported by ESPNCricinfo.
