Karunanidhi, the five-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, died on Tuesday after being admitted to Kauvery Hospital last month. He had contracted urinary tract infection and developed high fever following which he was taken to the hospital on July 28.
“Despite the best possible efforts by our team of doctors and nurses to resuscitate him, he failed to respond,” the hospital said in a statement on Tuesday.
