The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will commence on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Today, on November 12, 10 days before the series opener, Western Australia Cricket head curator Isaac McDonald stated that a decent amount of pace and bounce can be expected from the ground.

Isaac hopes the surface to be similar to that of the pitch where Australia faced Pakistan last year.

This is Australia, this is Perth… I’m setting ourselves up for really good pace, really good bounce and really good carry,” Isaac told ESPNcricinfo.

In a perfect world, I want to emulate last year,” he added.

The first match of the last year’s series between Australia and Pakistan was also played in Perth, where even though Pakistan could not dominate the game, Marnus Labuschagne labelled it to be one of the toughest pitches he played on.
