England gave a good fightback to Australia in the second Test (D/N) at the Adelaide Oval, bowling them out for 138 in the second innings but the damage was done. Australia were strong enough to restrict England onto the backfoot, especially the bowlers, who hardly allowed the English batsmen to fire. Mitchell Starc was the man of importance as he claimed a nine-wicket haul in the Test. Starc believes that despite the dominance from the Australian bowlers, there is still room for improvement and the bowling unit can get only better from here. Starc also went on to praise Nathan Lyon for becoming the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket in 2017. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Australia vs England, Ashes 2017-18, 2nd Test at Adelaide (Day-Night)
On Australia’s bowling attack and Lyon’s form
“I think the exciting thing is our bowling group can only get better. Obviously we’ve taken 40 wickets over the last couple of weeks and done some really good things but there’s still room for improvement. Gazza’s [Lyon] bowling the house down at the moment and that allows the other three of us to just do what we do at the other end. Josh does what he does and allows Pat and I to bowl as fast as we want. Hopefully we see a nice fast, bouncy wicket, the WACA of old, and get stuck into that as a bowling group,” said Starc.
