Speaking after his team won over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill praised Mohammed Siraj, who used to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) till IPL 2024, for his match-winning performance, stating that even after batters making the change in a T20 game, it is the bowlers who win the matches for a team.
GT have seen a good campaign in the IPL 2025 so far, as they have played four matches and won three of their clashes in a back-to-back manner. This clash also marked SRH’s fourth consecutive loss out of the five matches they have played so far.
“Bowlers are game-changers especially in this format, lot of people talk about big-hitters but bowlers win you games. The energy he (Mohammed Siraj) brings during bowling and fielding is infectious,” Gill said at the post-match conference.
Coming to the match, SRH came to bat first, and the top order was yet again destroyed easily. A 50-run partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen, along with 22* off 9 balls by Pat Cummins pushed SRH to 152/8.
