India skipper Rohit Sharma put a rest to all speculations regarding his retirement from the ODI format following India’s Champions Trophy triumph on Sunday. With Rohit about to turn 38 just two months later, there were rumours that he won’t be featuring in the 2027 ODI World Cup and will hang up his boots.

However, during the post-match press conference Rohit clarified that he won’t be retiring from the one-day cricket, adding that he hasn’t taken any decision on his future so far.

“I am not going to retire from this format. Just to make sure no rumours are spread moving forward. Koi future plan hai nahi, jo chal raha hai chalega (there is no future plan, whatever is going on will continue as it is),” Rohit said.

“There is a lot of hunger even in guys who have played lot of cricket and it rubs down on even the younger players. We have five to six players who are real stalwarts makes job easier for all of us,” Rohit added.

The India skipper was brilliant in the night of the final, playing a crucial knock of 76 which massively helped in guiding the Men in Blue to the target of 252. Rohit’s innings included 7 boundaries and 3 sixes and he scored his runs at a strike-rate of 91.56.
