VB Thiruvallur Veerans will got up against TUTI Patriots in 17th match of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2016. VB Thiruvallur Veerans have won three off their four fixtures whereas TUTI Patriots have won just one game out of four games. Baba Aparajith will be looking to move up the ladder in TNPL Standings as they are currently on third spot whereas TUTI Patriots are currently on sixth spot in the TNPL Points Table. Baba Aparajith will be leading VB Thiruvallur Veerans whereas Abhinav Mukund will be leading the TUTI Patriots in today’s match. VB Thiruvallur Veerans are yet to play at NPR College Ground, Dindigul. This might be a do or die situation for TUTI Patriots as they would be needing a win to suffice their situation before the game at hand today. Patriots have been involved in two close matches so far. The only match they won was the opening one where wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik scored an half-century.
Batting has been a major worry for TUTI Patriots since Karthik left to play for India Blue in Duleep Trophy match being held at Greater Noida. Even Abhinav Mukund’s presence has not worked out for them so far. The past two games have been a low-scoring affair for them, which will be the main area of concern for them tonight. If they bat first, a big total is the need of the hour to support their bowlers. The ground has witnessed a few high-scoring matches in the league. Their bowling has been a plus point all along the tournament and it will be interesting to see how they perform against Thiruvallur Veerans.
On the other hand Baba Aprajith has been in stellar form throughout the tournament. The skipper will be a player to watch out for as he has scored TNPL’s first century of the tournament.
