Of the most trending topics currently in India s cricketing fraternity is the fate of the position of Head Coach of India senior Men s cricket team. After the prolonged saga between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli, the former stepped down from his duties despite being handed an extension and that has created a void which needs to be filled soon. While names like Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody are competing for the coveted position, an engineer from Burdwan, West Bengal has joined the race. With no cricketing experience, Upendra Nath Brahmachari aims just to bring an arrogant Virat Kohli back on track so that BCCI can then appoint a legend.

Currently based in Maharashtra, Brahmachari made it clear in his application that he has no experience of playing or coaching. Calling Kumble a legendary cricketer, Brahmachari said he does not need a legend as coach . He also felt Cricket Advisory Committee s (CAC) efforts of finding a legend will go in vain if they again appoint another accomplished cricketer as the result will be the same as Kumble.

A screenshot of the mail sent by Brahmachari to BCCI was posted by news18.com stating, After the resignation of the legendary cricketer Mr Anil Kumble I decided to apply [for] the post of head coach of Indian cricket team (Men s) as I feel that the captain of Team India, Mr. Virat Kohli doesn t need a legend as coach. If the CAC select any former cricketer (as per the requirement of BCCI s advertisement) as coach he will also be insulted by Virat the outcome will be like Anil. [sic.]

I am en engineer and working with a MNC in the construction field and I don t have the experiences required by BCCI. But still I feel that I would be the right choice for the said post.

He further added, Why I should be appointed as the head coach? Because I can adjust with the arrogant attitude of the captain & no legend can do so and slowly I will drag him to the right track & then BCCI can appoint a legend as the head coach. Hence it s my modest request, considering the above thinks [sic] please give me a chance to face the VAC and appoint me as the head coach of the Indian cricket team (Men s), he concluded.
