Tom Latham scores fifth Test half-century in 2nd Test against England at Headingley

Tom Latham's fifty got New Zealand back on track after James Anderson's quick strikes early on pegged the visitors back in 2nd Test at Headingley.

Tom Latham scored his fifth half-century in Tests in the second Test between England and New Zealand at Headingley. He has been the lone star for New Zealand. Ross Taylor and Latham combined to bring the Kiwis back in the game with a 66-run stand after James Anderson struck twice to get rid of both Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson for ducks. Latham though did not shy away and was intent on putting the bad balls to the fence. He and Taylor were going great guns when Stuart Broad dismissed Taylor for 20. Rain washed away the first session after which England won the toss and elected to bowl first on a cloudy morning. England were unchanged while New Zealand handed a Test debut to Luke Ronchi who replaced Corey Anderson.
