Towhid Hridoy, Bangladeshi middle-order batter, showed his class and composure as he smashed his maiden ODI century during the Champions Trophy clash against India in Dubai. Even though he was batting under significant pressure, he impressed everyone with his skilled batting.
Towhid came in when Bangladesh was looking in a weak position at 35,3. However, he did not let the pressure take the better of him, and showed massive courage. Not so long after coming in, he scored fifty runs, picking up the rhythm and help the Tigers post a decent total.
Hridoy remained unbeaten till the final wicket remained, and was the 10th wicket by the team. Even though he started having to suffer with ramps by the ending phase of Bangladesh innings, he showed immense courage and scored his century.

This was a massive century, as this instance was only the second-ever instance where a non-opener had crossed the 100-run mark in Champions Trophy. India’s Mohammad Kaif was the first player to secure this feat, with 111 run against Zim Colombo RPS 2002.
