The series opener of the Tri-series between Ireland and Netherlands was abandoned without a ball being bowled at The Village in Dublin on Sunday. Misty conditions accompanied by rain greeted the players from both teams and the severe conditions did not relent forcing the umpires to call the game off within two hours of scheduled start.
Both the teams shared points. The next game will be played between Netherlands and Scotland on Monday at the same venue while Ireland will play Scotland on Tuesday. All three teams will be meeting each other twice before the finalists clash on Friday (September 20).
This triangular series was scheduled as a filler for the postponed Euro T20 Slam. Teams will use the tournament to prepare for the T20 World Cup qualifiers which are less than a month away.
