United Arab Emirates opener Amjad Ali missed what would have been his fourth One-Day international fifty by three runs in the third ODI against Afghanistan at the Dubai cricket academy. He was dismissed by Javed Ahmadi for a quick fire 47. Earlier Afghanistan sent UAE in to bat after winning the toss but the decision seemed to have backfired as the UAE openers took the Afghanistan bowlers to the cleaners in the powerplay overs. The UAE openers Amjad and Andri Berenger added 68 runs for the first wicket before Berenger was dismissed by Mirwais Ashraf for 28. Afghanaistan have clawed back into the game further with the wicket of Amjab and have managed to stem the flow of runs as well.

UAE and Afghanistan are in the middle of a four-match series in which the hosts UAE took an unassailable lead by virtue of winning the second ODI on the back of a scintilating century by their captain Khurram Khan.
