Unmukt Chand awarded Rs 20 lakh by Delhi Government

The Delhi Government on Tuesday, announced Rs. 20 lakh reward for teenaged cricketer Unmukt Chand, who successfully steered the Indian team to win the U-19 World Cup.

 

This was announced by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the Delhi Assembly.

 

The House adopted a resolution congratulating the 19-year-old U-19 team captain, whose century in the finals helped India to defeat the Australians.

 

The MLAs also hailed the team and the Delhi boy’s performance.

 

Unmukt had also called on the Chief Minister at her office in Delhi Assembly. “I hope he will become one of the top cricketers in the country in future like that of Sachin Tendulkar and others,” she said.
