IND VS SA :Sachin Dhas, named after Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, delivered an outstanding performance to help Team India rebound from a top-order collapse in the first semi-final against South Africa at the U-19 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday. Uday Saharan and Dhas delivered stroke-filled performances in Team India’s exciting two-wicket victory over the hosts in Benoni. Rescuing India from a dangerous 32 for four, the batting partnership put on a match-winning stand of 171 runs for the fifth wicket.
Sachin top-scored for Saharan and Co. in the first semi-final of the U-19 World Cup, hitting 96 off 95 balls as India chased down a tough mark of 245 in 48.5 overs. Sachin, known for his six-hitting skill, will turn 19 this Saturday. Sachin’s father, Sanjay Dhas, named him after batting legend Tendulkar. Interestingly, Sachin’s father, Sanjay, is a huge fan of Sunil Gavaskar, but he named his kid after his second favourite cricketer.

Saharan’s father also desired to be a cricketer.
Saharan came out to bat for India as the reigning champions lost two wickets for eight runs. Saharan led the Indian side from the front, scoring 81 runs off 124 balls to win the match. The Indian captain was run out while attempting the match-winning run. However, the captain’s strike propelled India to its ninth final of the U-19 World Cup. Saharan’s father also desired to be a cricketer. “He used to play the same way, taking it deep. So I attempted to do the same. I knew I could make the big shots at the end if necessary.
