UPCA chief patron Gaur Hari Singhania passes away

He was 80 and is survived by a son, Yadupati Singhania.

Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association‘s (UPCA) chief patron Gaur Hari Singhania passed away on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack. He was 80 and is survived by a son, Yadupati Singhania.

“Mr Singhania died at 8:30 am today after suffering a heart attack. He was cremated at the Bhagwan Das Ghat,” informed UPCA CEO Lalit Khanna.

Singhania was born on 12th June, 1935 in Kanpur in the illustrious family of JKs. He had served UPCA for the last two decades. Since childhood, he had interest in sports, literature, cultural activities, besides academics. He was a MA, Ph.D. in Economics. Besides, being involved in sports, he was also attached with the JK Organisation. He was the President of J K Organisation and a Promoter Director of JK Cement Ltd. since its inception in 1994. Singhania also held Chairmanship in other Companies viz.

He served as Chairman of “Merchants of Uttar Pradesh”, the Employers Association of Northern India and ‘UP Stock Exchange Ltd’.He also held position of Director in Pradeshiya Industrial Investment Corporation of Uttar Pradesh, UP State Industrial Development Corporation and Uttar Pradesh State Sugar Corporation.
