Uttar Pradesh to get Matthew Hayden for a three-day batting clinic to strengthen their batting

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has said that Hayden will be roped in ahead of the Ranji trophy to help their team.

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has brought in the services of Australian legendary batsman Matthew Hayden for a three-day batting clinic which shall most likely start before the domestic season. Rajiv Shukla, who is UPCA secretary, informed that Hayden has been roped in to help the state which has been long known to produce good pace bowlers to give the nation some batsmen too. Shukla told The Indian Express. “We gave the maximum number of bowlers to the country in the past few years. Now we want to strengthen our batting line-up and as Hayden was available, we requested him.” ALSO READ: Matthew Hayden says applying for England’s coach job would be crazy 

It has been learnt that UP batsman Suresh Raina has approached him. According to Shukla, Hayden’s expertise shall help the budding batsmen to sharpen their techniques and mental approach. Shukla further said that they will be called for a camp in Greater Noida before October. It is learnt that since many cricketers will find difficulty in understanding the Aussie’s accent hence a translator will be kept to help the players.
