Vasundhara Raje, chief minister of Rajasthan has brushed aside of any role or being involved in the removal of Lalit Modi as the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) president. She said that she was not even interested in such controversies.
With now BJP leader, Amin Pathan being awarded the role, it has been rumoured that there could be a possibility of renewing the feud between the two parties as they had a sour past.
“I have and will continue to stay away from cricket; but honestly, I believe the kids probably feel they need to play,” she said.
She rejected any possibility of having met BCCI‘s Ratnakar Shetty and Amin Pathan before Modi was sacked as the RCA president.
On the other hand, Modi has moved to high court claiming that there was not any clause of no confidence motion in the RCA. According to Article 19A, it requires 3/4th voting members and 2/3 members.
BCCI banned RCA after it re-elected Modi as the president. Initially, RCA was hesitant in disclosing the results of the election held in December 2013. However, the intervention of the Supreme Court led to the declaration of the results. Mahmood Abdi had been working at Modi’s position for the past four months.
With things going the BCCI’s way, RCA hopes to consider their players to play for the BCCI under the RCA tag.
