Caribbean all rounder Andre Russell once again proved why he is the best when it comes to shortest format of the game. The explosive batsman of Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) came out all guns blazing in the crucial Playoff 2 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 and helped his side in reserving a berth in the final. He achieved this benchmark in just 42 deliveries and played a key role in a crunch situation.
Russell came out to bat when JT were in a precarious situation with four wickets down for 67 runs. He looked unstoppable from the outset and took on the bowlers with immense confidence. He was smashing those big boundaries with ease as the bowlers had a tough time in confronting the right-handed assassin. His knock was clean and included 11 huge sixes and just three boundaries. After completing his century in 42 balls, Russell was dismissed after in next two deliveries. This was also the fastest century of CPL. His tenacious knock helped JT in posting a massive total of 195 runs and put pressure on the opposition. Later, he did a decent job with the ball as he had two wickets to his name. JT won the match by 19 runs and Russell was rightly awarded the man of the match award..
