During his innings, Amla faced an experimental slower delivery from Rampaul, which was slower even by the standards of a slow delivery. His response was epic.

With the advent of Twenty20 (T20) cricket, we get to see a lot more improvisation by the batsmen these days. While somebody like Tillakaratne Dilshan invented the ‘Dilscoop’, AB de Villiers went on to establish his reputation as a ‘360 degree’ player. With bigger bats and batsman-friendly rules, the willow-wielders have invented quite a few new shots to trouble the bowlers. At the same time, there are others like Hashim Amla, who have retained the ‘old-school charm’ in their batting. With their classical and orthodox style of batting, they have effectively gathered runs in every format. But this does not mean such players cannot improvise when there is a need. Amla recently gave an epic example of the same during a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) game. ALSO SEE: Video: Dwayne ‘Champion’ Bravo releases teaser of his new single ‘No.1’

Playing for Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) against the Barbados Tridents (BT), Amla played a fabulous knock of 81, which included 5 fours and 4 sixes, and added record 150 runs for the fifth wicket with skipper Dwayne Bravo. During his innings, he faced an experimental slower delivery from Ravi Rampaul, which was slower even by the standards of a slow delivery.

The said ball came in the 19th over of the innings, and Amla, giving ample evidence of his presence of mind and class, improvised to play a funny shot and still got away with two runs. The Rampaul delivery, which was meant to troll the batsman, was eventually trolled in return. There was laughter all around after the ball and we are sure you too will have a good laugh after watching it. Here is the video:
