Beating England in England is one of the toughest jobs in cricket. Sri Lanka may have won a series in 2014 but two years later, trying to rebuild themselves, the island nation have struggled big time. In reply, they only managed 101 before they were asked to follow-on. READ MORE: Alastair Cook directs; Moeen Ali stars in his biopic ‘Ali’

Following on, Sri Lanka did manage to put up a fight but at one point, they were struggling at 100 for 3. The third wicket to fall was on left-hander Lahiru Thirimanne, who fell to a brilliant delivery from off-spinner Moeen Ali. Isn’t having someone like Moeen an asset? Earlier, coming at No. 7, Moeen smashed an unbeaten 155 to help England reach to a good total. In the first innings, he bowled four overs and all of them were maidens and here he got one to pitch on the off-stump which beat Thirimanne’s outside edge and went on to uproot the off-stump. Truly, an off-spinner’s delight.
