Bangladesh cricket team is enhancing with every game, not just their batting and bowling but the fielding standards too have risen up. They have some young legs in their line up who are extremely quick and a livewire on the field. One such example of a fantastic effort in the field was witnessed during the 14th game of ICC World T20 2016 at Kolkata.

Soumya Sarkar took a sensational catch at deep mid-wicket boundary to get rid of a well set Mohammad Hafeez. Batting first, Pakistan were well set at 163 for the loss of two wickets inside 17 overs. Hafeez was batting on 64 off just 41 deliveries and was looking to take shift to another gear when Arafat Sunny came in to bowl. On the fourth delivery of the 17th over, Hafeez slog sweeped a flighted delivery from Sunny towards deep mid-wicket, he timed it really well as the ball looked as f it would sail over the big boundary but it wasn’t to be as Sarkar had other ideas. He held on to his nerves and grabbed the ball with both the hands on the boundary but his follow through compelled him to step inside the boundary but Sarkar’s presence of mind and great athleticism helped him throw the ball up in the air before stepping into the boundary. Moments later, he landed back inside the rope but the ball still seemed to be landing in the boundary. Sarkar stretched each and every muscle of his to get to the ball and eventually completed a brilliant catch.

Pakistan managed a score of 201 in their 20 overs and set a massive target for Bangladesh chase. Ultimately, Pakistan won the game by 55 runs but Sarkar’s catch is probably one of the best cupped in the tournament to far.
