We are moments away from the beginning of Old Trafford Test between England and Pakistan. Whenever there is a Test at Old Trafford, we cannot help but recall Shane Warne’s brilliance at the same venue in the 1993 Ashes. What was more incredible was the fact that it was Warne’s first ball in England and of his Ashes career. He cleaned-up Mike Gatting with a ball termed as the ‘ball of the century’. In an illustrious career, Warne has bowled many deliveries that have left batsmen bamboozled but that one has to be the best. How about the worst? Well, former English batsman Neil Fairbrother has given his verdict.
In the 1994-95 tri-series match between England and Australia, Warne bowled a strange loopy full-toss to Fairbrother, who smacked it away for a boundary. Obviously, the ball must have slipped out from his palm. Check this out:
