Dheeraj Jadhav and Sibsankar Roy struck half centuries to help Assam beat Jharkhand by seven wickets in an East Zone match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day tournament here today.
Assam’s bowlers did a decent job by limiting Jharkhand to 191 for eight before their batsmen, led by Jadhav (68) and Roy (62), completed the chase in 47.3 overs. Arup Das was the stand out bowler for Assam, taking three wickets for 16 runs in seven overs.
The win was Assam’s second in three games while Jharkhand suffered their second loss in three games. Senior player Saurabh Tiwary‘s unbeaten 107 went in vain with other Jharkhand batsmen unable to make an impression.

Tiwary smashed four sixes and seven fours in his 125-ball knock. Rahul Shukla made 38 towards the end of the unsuccessful chase.
